Hubfest!

Our first "real" outing as a little family...we went to Hubfest. They blocked off the streets in downtown Hattiesburg and had live music, food, and booths. I thought it was going to be cool today, so I dressed her in a long sleeve dress and tights.

It ended up being warmer than I thought, so I rolled her sleeves up. She didn't seem to mind, though. She was awake when we got there and loved looking around. She fell asleep for about 30 minutes. Then, she woke back up and just sat there as we pushed her around. We were there for about 2 1/2 hrs. and she never made a sound...what an angel!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

When we got home, she laughed and talked for a little while and then had her milks. She ate, and about 30 minutes later, her eyes started rolling back. She took a 3 hour nap. So, now I've got to keep her awake for a little while so she'll sleep tonight.
By the way, I'm taking a poll to see how much she weighs now. If you have an idea, tell me your guess. We go to the doctor on Monday, so I'll update everyone when we get back.

We Fixed the Milks!

After several days of "fussy pants", we finally solved the problem. We "uped" her milks to 5 1/2 oz. every 3 to 4 hours, and she has been her old self the last couple of days. Her first and last bottles every day are 6 oz.
Also, she's starting to pull her head and chest up when lying on her belly. It's so cute (as you can see)!!!!!

She's starting to get a few little baby fat rolls on her legs, too! I guess she's loving her milks and it's showing! She's wearing 1 diapers right now, but will probably be moving to 2 diapers pretty soon. I can't wait to see what she weighs at the doctor on Monday for her 4 month appointment!!! I'll let you know what he says!

Fussy Pants!

For the last week or so, Emily has been very upset before each feeding. She used to sleep until her bottle, and took a bottle every 4 hours. She was on the 6-10-2 schedule. Lately, she'll start getting fussy somewhere between 2 and 3 hours after her bottle. We thought it was just allergies waking her up because she makes a "snorting" sound when she cries. Fortunately, she's still sleeping through the night. So, it's probably not her allergies. We think maybe she's just going through a growth spurt and wanting more of her "milks". She had been eating 5 oz. every 4 hours. I looked it up on the internet and DJ called Emily's nurse and both said to "up the milks". So, we're doing 5 1/2 - 6 oz. every 3 hours. Her nurse, Vicky, said that a lot of times 4 month olds go through a growth spurt, so we're going to try this. Also, Vicky changed her 4 month appointment from April 14th to March 30th. So, we'll see what the Dr. says on Monday. I'm sure we'll be starting rice cereal.

Also, Emily has been trying to sit up (it's her new thing). I'll pull her up sometimes and let her sit by herself for a few seconds. My hands are always behind her back, and she can balance for a short time by herself. She's such a big girl!!!

Mommy is sick!

Sorry for the lack of updates. We have been busy lately with me back at work and getting our house cleaned up to sell. Last week, I became sick. I took off work Thursday to go to the doctor and found out I had strep throat and walking pneumonia. Unfortunately, I didn't want to get little 'Em sick, so my parents took her for the weekend. It was tough being without her, but I knew it was better for her not to chance getting sick from me. I couldn't bear it if she were to get sick.

She's still doing wonderful! She's still sleeping through the night and is eating 5 oz. now. She has gotten even longer!!! We are about to move up to 3-6 months clothes because of her length, but she still doesn't fill it out. She can still wear newborn dresses! Since it's starting to warm up outside, I think we're just going to start wearing dresses and two piece pant sets. Plus, she loves her feet to be free!

She loves her glow worm...laughs at it every time it's turned on. She also loves watching T.V. and her mobile. I recently put her on a mat on the floor that has noises and things hanging down from it. She wasn't sure what to do...she just stared at it. She's also wanting to sit up. She'll grab your hands and pull herself up. I can't wait for her to sit on her own, but I don't want to rush it either.
